Plots

Plots sell for $250. A plot is 4’ x 10’ and will hold one casket or 8 cremains. We report to the Oregon Mortuary Board. When anyone is buried at the Dufur Cemetery. A death certificate is required by state law and needs to be turned into the Director of Cemetery upon burial.

Cemetery Information

The cemetery is divided into 8 blocks.The upper or western portion include blocks 1-4 and has 60 lots each. The lower or eastern portion nearer the highway include blocks 5-8 has 24 lots each. Each lot contains 8 sections. The total sections or plots total 2,688 plots to take care of in the cemetery by Volunteers. There is an annual Work Party day held in the late spring before Memorial Day.

Current Work Projects

We are currently working on two projects for the cemetery. We would like to grade and gravel the cemetery roads the Fall of 2019. The second project we would like to see completed will be the construction of a Directory Kiosk at the cemetery. We have researched a kiosk idea that will shelter a map of each cemetery section and lots. This Kiosk allows us to create an aesthetically pleasant addition, while creating a more "user friendly" experience to families, first time visitors and genealogists working on behalf of others.
