Plots

Plots sell for $500. A plot is 4’ x 10’ and will hold one casket or 8 cremains. We report to the Oregon Mortuary Board. When anyone is buried at the Dufur Cemetery. A death certificate is required by state law and needs to be turned into the Director of Cemetery upon burial.

Cemetery Information

The cemetery is divided into 8 blocks.The upper or western portion include blocks 1-4 and has 60 lots each. The lower or eastern portion nearer the highway include blocks 5-8 has 24 lots each. Each lot contains 8 sections. The total sections or plots total 2,688 plots to take care of in the cemetery by Volunteers. There is an annual Work Party day held in the late spring before Memorial Day.

Current Work Projects
We are currently working on a Veterans Memorial for the Dufur Cemetery. The project began in 2023 raising funds. We received a grant from Wasco Electric Coop. The sign is in the process of being completed. The next phase will be to excavate the area to put in a handicapped accessible sidewalk to the memorial where all the veterans in the cemetery will be listed. Phase 3 will add a granite bench.
